HELP i need some info RE an item i required, it is an AA suitcase, i dont know if it was a gift given to people who signed up or if it was used by the AA workers to carry tools? It is about 60's 70's at a guess, it has AA on the top of the lid with Lucas writen in red under it and a broken red thick line at a slant. I have googled it to no avail. Thank you Sophie x

I have some very old AA car badges. 3 of them have 'South Africa" on the top and 1 has Rhodesia on the top. This is apparantly rare according to what you say at AA. I want to sell these. Can anyone let me know what they are worth? I am in SA

Between the wars, my grandfather, Robert McRobb, was an Automobile Association Engineer. He owned a garage business in Aberdeen, and was also a certifying Officer, Ministry of Transport, Northern Scotland Area. His qualification was M. Inst. B. E. I would be interested in finding out what any or all of these relate to.

Having been a Member of the RAC for the last 14 years, I would like to say the RAC have been excellent on all occasions I have needed their breakdown recovery service.
Patrols have always reached me within 40 minutes, have worked their hardest to get the car repaired at the roadside before summoning for a recovery vehicle to take you and your car home or garage.
I have never had a problem with RAC and I would recommend them, simply because the service I have always received from them has been magnificent. Thank You RAC, you really do RAC to it !

Alan I can relate to you on that when it comes to dealing with the RAC. I had to wait on a patrol for 8 hours on one occasion and 4.5 hours on another.

I worked at the AA starting 1964 and my husband joined in 1966 and worked there until he retired. We collected several badges over the years and he was particularly proud of a very old one he had. However, eventually they either rusted off or were nicked. Today I have just bought a 1932 chrome badge for £15 so it is still possible to acquire them. (In fact the shop where I got it has about 8!But it is Basingstoke, home of the AA now.) I shall, however, be keeping this one INSIDE the car!

There is a very good dating chart on this and several other sites and guidance to price - well, look at them on eBay.
