RAC European Breakdown Cover Guide

RAC European Breakdown Cover comes with two price options – cover for trips of up to five days or comprehensive cover for a longer time overseas.

Both options come with the backing of one of the world’s leading motoring organisations.

Formed in 1897 and with 7 million members, the business was recently sold for around £1 billion.

In 2010, the RAC’s 1,800 patrol fleet helped 2.5 million motorists involved in breakdowns or accidents.

RAC European Breakdown Cover is standalone fixed price assistance, drivers do not need to buy UK cover as well.

The vehicle covered must be roadworthy, and free from any defects with an up to date service record.

Services

The RAC has developed from a motoring club in to a patrol force specialising in breakdown repair and vehicle recovery. Other services include motor-related legal advice and claims management.

Prices

RAC European Breakdown Cover is personal cover for a motorist driving any vehicle less than six years old at the start of the journey.

Customer service

The RAC European Breakdown Service is provided by English speaking agents, not directly by the RAC via two call centres on the Continent.
